Spices Research Sub-Centre, Faridpur
Establishment:
This research station was established in 2006 at Bahirdia, Faridpur Sadar, Faridpur with the name of Spices Research Sub-Centre (SRSC), Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI), Faridpur, Bangladesh. It is the sub-centre of the Spices Research Centre (SRC), BARI, Shibganj, Bogura. Presently, the station is headed by a Senior Scientific Officer along with two scientists of different discipline.
Location:
The SRSC, Faridpur is situated in the west side of the Faridpur-Dhaka High Way around 3.50 km north towards Dhaka from the Rajbari Raster More of Faridpur district. The station is belonging to Agro Ecological Zone (AEZ) no. 12 (Low Ganges River Floodplain). The geographic coordinates of the SRSC, Faridpur are 23̊ 11̍ N and 89̊ 09̍ E. In addition, its elevation is about 12 meters above sea level.
